Total phosphate (Total-P) was determined colorimetrically at 610 nm (Shimadzu spectrophotometer, UV-2550, Japan) using the ammonium heptamolybdate and malachite green [10]. The TOC in the media was analysed using Total Organic Carbon-Laboratory analyzer, (TOC-L Analyzer, Shimadzu, Japan).
